French-British artist Clémentine March has revealed her sprawling new orchestral single, ‘Powder Keg’. The track, much like the album it is taken from, is an eclectic take on chamber pop with a healthy dose of McCartney influence thrown in for good measure. Here, she mixes an alt-rock and krautrock core with nods toward Brazilian music, jazz and folk providing a unique twist. On the curious video that accompanies the track, she says: “What if squirrels could play the electric guitar? The result, shot in DV and refilmed through a screen, was shot on a hot August morning at The Barbican Centre, London, in all its lo-fi glory.” ‘Powder Keg’ is the title track from Clémentine March’s upcoming album, which drops on January 9th, 2025, via PRAH Recordings. -Dan Peeke
